Our task, regarding creativity, is to help children climb their own mountains, as high as possible.
No one can do more.

About Mrs. Latona Mrs. Latona

I became a kindergarten teacher because I wanted to make a difference. I want children to feel a sense of belonging and to create an environment where children can feel safe and learn in a fun and nurturing way. Salem school is not just a building, but a school community that is filled with hugs, kindness, love and support.
I have been part of the Naugatuck Public School District since 2009 as a math tutor, reading tutor, a before/after school math program teacher and currently a kindergarten teacher. I have taught kindergarten for a total of eight years, five in Rochester, NY and the past three at Salem Elementary in Naugatuck.
I live in Oxford with my husband, two children and my dog.  I grew up in Western New York and love Buffalo chicken wings.  After attending college in Rochester, NY I taught and raised my family there until I moved to Connecticut in 2008.
