"In each and every one of us, there is something very special.
We have all been gifted with the ability to make a positive difference."

The goal of our physical education program is to develop physically educated individuals who have the knowledge, skills, and confidence to enjoy a lifetime of healthful physical activity. The objectives of our program are:

· Design classes that promote a health-enhancing level of physical fitness.

· To provide opportunities for all students to  improve motor skills, movement concepts, strategies, and tactics in an age appropriate setting

· To  allow  students to work cooperatively  and exhibit responsible personal and social behavior

· To integrate cross-curriculum  (math, reading, writing, etc.) learning to enhance the overall learning and development of our students

· To help our students become progress towards  self–directed, self-reliant individuals.

About Mrs. Kathleen Loukoumis

I am excited for another amazing year teaching elementary physical education in Naugatuck.
I have been teaching in Naugatuck for 20 years. Prior to teaching elementary physical education I was a health and physical education at the Intermediate level. Teaching at the elementary level has a special place in my heart. I hope to take my students natural love of movement and empower them to be productive citizens and make life-long healthy choices.
I attended Central Connecticut State University and Graduated with a BS in Physical Education.  I continued my education pursuing my masters degree in Educational Technology also at Central Connecticut State University. I recently completed my Sixth Year Degree in Administration from Arkansas State University.
As a mother of two young children, I understand how important a positive elementary experience is and will provide a fun, active, and knowledgeable learning experience for my students.
