Library Media Specialist
"Educating All Students Today For Tomorrow's Future"
I am the Library Media Specialist at Salem Elementary School. I have the privilege of seeing every student in the school, once per week. I love my job because I get to support students in their learning for a full five years. I am excited to see their growth and progress as they travel from Kindergarten through Fourth Grade.
This is my 14th year in education. I am an avid reader and love to get kids excited about books! I taught in Waterbury for eleven years and absolutely love being a part of Naugatuck Public Schools! I have a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and a Master's of Arts in Education. I have a passion for reading, and inquiry that led me to pursue my certification as a Library Media Specialist. Some of my favorite things are READING, gardening, running, Coffee and spending time with my family. My favorite authors are Lucy Maud Montgomery, Charlotte Bronte, Helen Lester and Mo Willems.
Our Library Media Center
Our school library program strives to instill a love of reading, inspire life-long learning, and foster independent inquiry skills. Students visit our library twice a week as a class to check out books, learn and practice information literacy skills and digital citizenship. The library is an inviting space where students may acquire knowledge and gain insight. Our hope is that students will open books and open their minds for a better tomorrow.
